another short video production site i've been introduced to recently...
Olive Us is a weekly video series created by Ben and Gabrielle Blair and featuring their six kids: Ralph, Maude, Olive, Oscar, Betty and Flora June. You can find their bios below.
The series is made up of short episodes (typically 2 to 5 minutes) and showcases values we care about like working hard, being kind, helping each other, being creative, problem solving and staying positive even when frustrating things happen.

We’re currently living in a farmhouse in the French countryside. For Season 1, the video crew came to France to shoot on location. For Season 2, we filmed in different locations across Utah.

I mean, how precious and inspiring is that!!
Most of them are not in French...but this is my current favorite - the story of Little Red Riding Hood
I'm so inspired by this family!! They make the cutest little films - with such excellence - just for fun. I love that film can be a family endeavor, something that everyone enjoys doing and can be passionate about. Film is imagination recorded. My thought process - why not make your own movies and video games...rather than being stuck inside watching or playing one?
I started making funny little war documentaries with a few of the little boys I would babysit when I was 14. What a better way to spend a sunny afternoon than running around in the backyard with a camera and guns? We didn't grasp the concept of scenes, so we would plan the whole thing out, film the "choreography" from start to finish, watch it, then redo the whole thing if one part was messed up. The boys would wear their skater helmets as their WW2 gear, and we only had one bb gun to use as a prop. So we made a gun out of a piece of a bike rack in my shed.
That was the beginning of my film career.
If I could only find those videos!! I might just have to search for them, however embarrassing they might be :)
All this to say, this summer is going to be full of making short films. We'll see what becomes of them or what they end up looking like. All I know is I NEED to have that creative film outlet again.
Cheers!
